another one for my sis

i was going to write a new post tonight...but, i read my sister's and decided that you all you should it too...she's also a much better writer....but, i loved it, especially since it was about my dad and how positive he was...he was one of my heroes....i'm so lucky he was my dad...he used to 'lecture' us at night...and we usually didn't want to hear it...but, it was always what we needed to hear...when tom was sick he would call me and tell me ways to think positive about life...it was such a great help...so enjoy my sister's great post...

another break in my trip diary

(after marty and polly were married)
yesterday on april 9th was 10 years since my dad died...he was a great man with great big ideas...he was able to see most of them through during his life...he grew up really poor during he depression...he didn't have much..i think that made him the generous man he was..he loved to give things to people...to help others out...he was so much fun...loved games, sports, mind games, number games..anything that made him think...and he was good at them...he would tease you by thinking you were going to win...then, he'd slam the pool ball in the hole! and you lost the $100 that he was going to give you...he taught me many things...he taught me to love sports, to work hard, to have fun, to love music, to love my mom...he loved her so much...they were a great couple....i could go on and on...but, i won't do that...but, just know that i was the luckiest girl ever because he was a fantastic dad!

brothers

dad and mel

russ, tom, and willie

Seeing uncle mel reminded me so much of my dad...it was alot of fun..

dad and mel with friends

mel told some fun stories of dad and his growing up years...

how dad won an extra dollar when he was caddying by playing craps with the boys...

grandma wasn't happy about that...

scouts

how dad taught the bully of the neighborhood a lesson..by beating him up!mel, dad, allan and uncles
it sounds like they were hoodlums!

but, what a fun life they had...

they didn't have any money..but, they did so much with so little...

bagley boys

then, i started thinking of these 2 brothers...

willie and russ

i watched them grow up...they were fun...

willie, russ and ty

willie was the sweet (well, until later, then willie started torturing russ) older brother

that russ wanted to follow everywhere...

willie and russ

and willie let him..they've always had fun together..

russ, willie and friend ryan

it could be tennis, rock climbing, snowboarding...whatever...they are great brothers...just like their grandpa was...
