today we had stake conference and pres. shumway from byu hawaii spoke..he was speaking about making our homes a celestial home and he said some really interesting things...one of them was that we don't want a "temple" marriage, but a "celestial" one...meaning that we can get married in the temple, but unless we treat our spouses right, it won't be a celestial marriage...he also said that we need to each think of the other person and make them happy...so, i know my husband is already in that celestial place....waiting until i get up to his level....so, i just need to work on treating everyone i know with that same love and respect...i've always loved the golden rule...of doing unto others as you would have them do unto you....so, hopefully i can do that...treat everyone with kindness and love.....hopefully, i haven't been too bad so far....

  1. I don't really think Tom was totally "done" even though he died. I think he's still growing, and learning things to develop himself and those qualities will make him an even better husband. He knows of your courage and faith and hope in dealing with life's challenges on your own. His respect and honor of you is growing and that makes him even more respectable and honorable. His pride in the kids lives will continue to give him joy and he'll become a more joyful, loving, understanding, appreciative parent, husband and person. He didn't die in a perfected state, but whatever he's doing now, combined with the characteristics he develops knowing of your strength in trials here, will make him worthy of all of you. I think you're having different experiences that are probably teaching you similiar things so that when you're together again you'll be on the same level, with lots to share about how you gained your understanding and wisdom, patience and tolerance. Tom has got to be SO proud of you and your family! I'm absolutely sure you're making him happy with your choices and generosity, cheerfulness and kindness. You are an awesome wife. Tom is a happy husband!! Isn't that why you get such cool anniversary gifts??
