Busy weeks

It's been a busy few weeks. Thought I'd catchup.
A couple of weeks ago, willie and kelly and their cute kids came to visit and meet baby Russell. Kelly and her kids came up, we had a great time.
Beach, swimming, s'mores and Disneyland we're on the docket.























Then came Halloween.


















Kerry came down on the Friday after Halloween. She was stuck in the airport shooting and walked, carrying cedar, a few miles with her duffle bag on her back! What a woman!!






We just hung out, went to Ryan and Whitney's baby blessing.
On Monday she flew back to utah I flew to charlotte nc to meet my cousin mare. She's moving there and building a house. We picked out all the windows, appliances, tiles etc. whirlwind, but fun.











So im back home getting ready for thanksgiving. It's been a fun few weeks

meeting the newest cousin!

this past weekend, kerry, austin and cedar came down to meet baby russell!  kelly and her kids came up....and we had a fun, fun time....it's so cute to see the older cousins with the brand new babies....they are loving it!  gavin loved holding both babies....russell is about half the size of cedar...cedar has grown into a sturdy little boy....he's so cute with his blue eyes and red hair!  baby russ is dark with dark hair....he looks alot like kristen....we went bowling with everyone which was alot of fun...then to get pizza....on sunday, russ blessed baby russ....he did a great job...it was wonderful to have his buddies there...adam and ashley pollock, randy and jennifer meru, ryan and whitney gunn, jake and ashley maddox....everyone with their little families!  after church we went to terry and sharon's for lunch...the great-grandparents met the newest members of the family...baby russ is the 4th russell in the family....terry's dad, his son, his grandson and now his great grandson are all named russell....pretty cool! it was a fun, fun weekend!

2 weeks ago i was with russ and kristen having lunch....she was due to have their baby in 6 days...she's been having tightening in her stomach for a couple of days...no pain...after lunch they went home....she bent over to pick something up....and her water broke!  so about a half hour later, they called and said they were going to the hospital! what a shock....she wasn't dilated, so they started her on pitosin at about 10 pm....figuring nothing would happen until the next morning...i went home to bed....but, at about 5:30 i got a text from russ saying that she was having the baby...after 15 minutes of pushing....out came sweet russell brucato mullin!  he weighed in at 7 lbs. 12 oz. and 21 inches long....what a doll...he has dark hair...looks like kristen...such a sweet heart...they are adjusting easily to parenthood....it's so fun to watch them...I'm' so happy for them all....a darling new family!

Crash

Last tues kerry, austin, cedar and I went shopping. Then drove through topanga canyon.  It was beautiful.  As we were driving home just past Malibu pier, it happened! A few cars in front if me, a couple jaywalked arcross the street. That car stopped, the next, the next, I stopped, but the one behind me didn't stop! Crash! He hit me. Then, I hit the next car. The others were ok.  It was so scary.  Kerry started screaming "cedar!" That scared me badly that he was hurt. Luckily we were ok. The other cars weren't so lucky.  My car got smashed a bit.  Not too bad. But it needs work. The others were really smashed. The one behind me had its radiator, engine and windshield smashed in. The car in front had its trunk smashed in.  We were so blessed that we were ok. It's such a scary thing and happens so fast.  My next thought was "everyone needs a really big strong car". So be careful out there!

Whit, Jas and Wren

On Thursday Whitney, Jason and little Wren arrived for a weekend visit. It was so much fun to have them come. We went to the beach where Jason surfed for the first time. We swam, we went to Santa Barbara for the day.  We played games at night just had a fantastic time!!

Kerry's birthday

We got home from Chicago and that Monday was Kerry's big birthday! We celebrated by having massages. Lunch, and then a fun barbecue.  Kerry turned 24! Unbelievable that my baby is 24!!! And a wonderful mom.  It's been fun having her home this last few weeks.  I will miss them all when they leave.  

Chicago

I realized that I never finished up our trip! It's been so busy around here this summer, non stop fun!!

So, after Mt Rushmore we hopped on the plane and flew to Chicago.  What a fantastic city!  It's beautiful architechture, wonderful museums and parks. It was overcast and cooler weather which was nice. We saw the science and industry museum which is amazing, a tour on the red bus of the city, the navy pier which is like an amusement park. We went to millenium park which is gorgeous, saw the huge bean in the park.  We went up the sears tower and saw the city scape. Its just amazing!! We went on the architectural boat tour, went to a cubs game at wriggles field. We shopped and shopped. Kerry and austin went to lollapolooza. And we ate and ate and ate. It was a lot of fun.  A city to definitely go back to.
