happy day

it was a party from the time i woke up to the time i'm going to bed...thank you thank you for all the fun..had a fun lunch with great friends....more fun at 'horton hears a who' with some perfect grand children...missed kate, but talked to her...had a great dinner with pollocks and kelly and jeff...and had many, many wonderful phone calls...alot that i missed...emails and notes., i got great gifts..gavin made his first handmade 'modpodge' frame, and gorgeous flowers.....so thank you all for making my day sooooooo perfect! and the weather was the best! a perfect way to start a new year.............thanks again..

the lure of travel

what is it about traveling that i love so much? is it the excitement of planning the trip? is it getting there? is it being there? is it remembering the trip? i think for me, it's all of the above...i love to think about where i want to go next...i love to read travel books, magazines...anything to give me great ideas...hearing about different trips like this or this or this (they were all together, just different versions), or this great trip...just make me want to pack my bags and go....even the traveling there usually has some funny or terrible experience...and then when you're there...the food, the sights, the fun times, it's so fun to remember the fun experiences, to visit with people from other places, i guess what i like is getting out of "my little world" and spreading my wings...so no matter if you're driving your kids to school in utah, traveling to the far east, or just relaxing at the beach...getting away with people you love is the best thing in the world....i just received this beautiful book from this same sister...i loved the pictures in it....and the 'blessing' in it...so if you're only traveling from your chair you can enjoy it all, just the same...

oh, the pain and frustration!

so, it's been one of those days...for the last few days...i got on a cleaning kick..which is good..right? and then i thought...my printer isn't printing right, and my moniter has lines through it, and my fax doesn't work...so, i went to the store and bought new ones, plus supplies to organize my office space....easy right? wrong, of course...the fax won't work on the telephone line that it's always worked on...call india....the printer lucky, lucky for me did just hook up and work...the MONITOR...oh!!!! that was a problem that i worked on for about 3 hours last night and now about 3 hours today...didn't know that my 2 year old computer is so old and ancient...more calls to india.....i must have good friends there to call so often...probably had 5 calls from there today...but, happy day...it's all working.....but, now i have a huge mess....so back to my cleaning....tomorrow...it will be a better and easier day.....

a few weeks ago, to my delight, on this cute blog, i won these! i never win anything, so this was a very fun surprise for me....i went away and yesterday when i received my mail i got my darling gift...so thanks so much gabi....i'm thrilled to have won in you blog-versary give-away....

we had a fun easter party with the hannemanns, merus and other friends...we had an easter egg hunt, owen and gavin loved that! then a great dinner cooked by the hannemanns...then we played a game where you pick a slip of paper and do what's on the paper and then get to pick an egg with a surprise inside...at the end of the party we had to say our good byes...russ left tonight, we leave tomorrow...it was fun to see the hannemann family, scotty and jennifer, rand, spencer, clark, and all the many friends we saw..once again we've had a wonderful trip...aloha!

today is easter and also my big brother's birthday....happy happy birthday tom....you're a great brother...my best...also, my only...but, in real life you've always been there for me...always taken care of me...i have always known that i could count on you....you tortured me, made fun of me, teased me...you were a great big brother...you also let me hang out with you, you were my friend...you liked my husband, you took me skiing and would yell me down the hill...and you're still my friend...you were with me in good times and bad....thanks and i love you...

mackys dinner

over on the north shore, one of our 'musts' is to have dinner at 'macky's shrimp'...it's the absolute best...it's a shrimp shack off the side of the road...they moved to haliewa (by the way)...we went there last night with the hannemanns, scotty and jennifer , randy kerry's friend spencer who's a marine over here, and hanneman's friend trey....it was great as usual....

here are some great pictures of the big island...we visited terry and sharon, saw his houses that he's been building, saw reilley's new house, went on a hummer safari ride, saw beautiful waterfalls, cinnamon trees, the rainforest....now we are at turtle bay...more later

signs

poor little kerry had her wisdom teeth out yesterday...she made me laugh so hard, i was crying...when she was waking up, she kept looking at me so puzzled...i kept asking what she needed...she started 'signing' to me...which of course, i don't understand...i kept saying...'i don't understand'...so then she started signing more...i finally figured out a name...julia...then kerry signed that julia understood, then heidi, then ashely, then jeremy and so on...i kept saying, yes, they understand but i don't...and she would look at me so troubled...i was really laughing...then, she turned to the nurse and signed to her...the nurse said...you can use your mouth, it works...but she only would 'sign'...well, she's coming around better today...she's lucky, she's not to swollen...and all her friends came to visit and brought jamba juice...

update on 'bliss'

i would like to say that it was a not very happy, boring, sad day......but, i would really be LYING!!! it was a great, fantastic, very fun day...we had the best time...starting with our massages, which after the 80 fabulous minutes of deep tissue, they brought my robe that was warmed in the warmer; going on to a great body scrub that left my skin so soft...then on to a delicious lunch by the pool; finishing with a lovely facial, scalp massage, hand and foot massage...are you jealous yet? then sitting with fun friends by the pool for a few hoursbasking in the beautiful sunlight on a most gorgeous day and topping it off with a great dinner...a pretty perfect day....don't you agree?

blissful!!

can't wait!!! tomorrow morning i get to go to this with a few (not all, mind you) of my closest friends....so, i'll report and tell you all soon....
